“Someone Else’s Life started out as a phrase in my head. I had the sudden realisation that I was living my life for others approval and that the real me had faded away. But while I had the phrase, I wasn’t sure if I was a good enough songwriter to tackle it, it wasn’t until I wrote Beautiful Femme Boy that I had enough confidence in myself to take it on. Ultimately it’s a song about falling and getting back up as many times as you have to in order to work through trauma. It’s a song about perseverance and survival.”
